Melbourne's favourite recipes have been turned into fundraising posters

We’re blessed here in Melbourne to have the hospitality industry that we do. We get to go from venues like Andrew McConnell’s Cumulus Inc with its fresh tuna tartare and crushed peas, then head to Adam D’Sylva’s Tonka for dessert and treat ourselves to Kay-Lene Tan’s halwa carrot cake.

That’s why Food For Everyone's second collection of limited-edition recipe posters by Melbourne creative, Gemma Leslie, is so special. The poster prints feature recipes by hospitality heavyweights Andrew McConnell (Cumulus Inc, Cutler and Co, Supernormal), Lennox Hastie (Firedoor, Netflix’s ‘Chef’s Table: BBQ’), Lisa Valmorbida (Pidapipó Gelateria) and Kay-Lene Tan (Tonka) along with bright images of ingredients inspired by organic forms and imperfections.

The purchase of each poster will provide 70 meals through FareShare, an Australian charity that cooks millions of free meals for those in need, with the previous collection raising $41,585.33 for the charity.

FareShare is among hundreds of frontline charities and food banks across Australia that have experienced a significant increase in the need for food relief at varying times in the past year due to the ongoing impacts of  COVID-19. Approximately 35% of Australians currently experience food insecurity, but it’s expected that they won’t cope when the additional Government support via JobSeeker and JobKeeper is withdrawn in March.

Each poster is A2 (42cm x 59cm) and printed on paper made entirely from 100 percent recycled single-use coffee cups. Posters are priced at $80 and are available to pre-order online for a limited time from Thursday, February 11 to Thursday, February 25.
