Biannual restaurant week dineL.A. usually rolls out its winter edition in January, but with L.A. restaurant patios still shuttered at the time, the prix fixe tradition decided to delay things a bit. That’s worked out the best for hungry diners, because now you have a choice of either takeout or outdoor dining.
DineL.A. is back from March 1 through 14 for its first-ever spring edition. You can find the full list of over 250 restaurants offering fixed-price, multi-course meals over on the dineL.A. website, but we’ve picked out a couple of our favorite deals below.
1 Pico @ Shutters on the Beach
Watch the sunset over the water and then relax in this leafy courtyard literally steps from the beach. You’ll find a three-course dine-in dinner menu with choices like hamachi crudo, burrata and seared scallops. $55; available for outdoor dining
Silver Lake diner All Day Baby is pushing up the ante with a Motörhead-inspired lunchtime meal: the Lemmy Special, a smoked beef and cheese sandwich with fries and a choice between three Jack-and-soda cocktails. $25; available for takeout starting Mar 3
Available for both lunch and dinner and with a buy-up option that tacks on shrimp cocktail or ceviche, Broad Street Oyster Co.’s dineL.A. menu will basically just save you a buck on a can of Bud—but we’ll never turn down an excuse to encourage you to grab Malibu’s—and possibly SoCal’s—best lobster roll. $25–$45; available for outdoor dining and takeout
Compared to the typical a la carte menu, the Fairfax Thai restaurant’s dineL.A. lunch offering pretty much throws in a free sticky rice with coconut custard depending on what you order for your starter and main. Dinner ups the choices and throws in a glass of wine or Thai iced tea. Lunch $20, dinner $45; available for outdoor dining and takeout
Beverly Hills’ Vietnamese seafood eatery typically requires a decent investment, but its lunch menu offers a lower-priced taste of items like yellowtail sashimi, filet mignon XO fried rice and banana à la mode. $35; available for outdoor dining and takeout
In search of the closest thing to a romantic meal right now? This Studio City secret garden’s three-course dinner menu, with options like mussels, crispy duck confit and crème brûlée, kicks off with sparkling rosé and salmon tartare under the twinkle-lit patio. $65; available for outdoor dining
Everyone’s favorite patio for vegan Mexican bites and margs is back just in time for dineL.A. The West Hollywood spot’s multi-course menu features options like cauliflower with chipotle cashew cheese, a jackfruit carnitas wet burrito and watermelon agua fresco; upgrade to a margarita during lunch for an extra $5, or get it included during dinner along with chips and guac and a gluten-free brownie. Lunch $25, dinner $55; available for outdoor dining
El Segundo’s seasonal Italian spot has multi-course menus for both lunch and dinner, but lunchtime is a particular steal: go with crispy Brussels sprouts and an avocado-topped kale salad for something on the healthier side, or a more decadent combo of meatballs and a chicken parm sandwich, all served with a glass of pinot grigio, rosé or Montepulciano. $20; available for outdoor dining
Pasadena’s historic train station patio is shaving about five dollars off burger pairings, with a trio of draught beers (including locally-brewed fave Craftsman 1903) available for lunch and a selection of cocktails (including the signature white sangria) for dinner. $25; available for outdoor dining
For its steal-of-a-lunch menu, Shirley Chung’s Culver City restaurant pairs the typically weekend brunch-only scallion pancake with a slightly pared down order of a half-dozen dumplings, available either vegan or with chicken. Dinner, meanwhile, shifts to a family-style menu with chicken dumplings, salt and pepper shrimp, soy sauce Cornish hens and mochi doughnuts, among other items. Lunch $15, dinner $45 per person (minimum two people); available for outdoor dining and takeout
