It's no surprise that we as Melburnians love our coffee. It goes hand-in-hand with our strong café and brunch culture and is one of the things we're proudest of.
So it makes sense that Gesha in the leafy eastern suburb of Surrey Hills serves up a $198 cuppa joe. But this isn't just any brew, this is luxury coffee that's otherwise known as Geisha coffee. Grown in the highlands of Panama, the coffee gains its exceptional quality from the weather conditions of the Chiriquí region, its rich volcanic soils and the intensive labour that means constant training of local producers.
As for the flavour, the beans produce tropical fruity notes and strong floral flavours of jasmine and bergamot. It's smooth and has little body but is one of the most luxe ways to start your day.
If you're looking to get your hands on the exclusive coffee, head to Gesha, 496 Whitehorse Rd, Surrey Hills anytime between 6:30am to 5pm.
