One of L.A.’s best chocolatiers just opened up a bigger shop in Glendale

Last month, beloved local patisserie Valerie Confections unveiled a brand-new retail space at the border of Burbank and Glendale. The new Valley space, located at 1936 West Glenoaks Boulevard, replaces eponymous pastry chef Valerie Gordon’s original Historic Filipinotown retail shop. (The brand’s Echo Park café remains open).

The new 5,000-square-foot space will also serve as Valerie’s wholesale production facility, as well as company headquarters for Gordon and her partner in business and in life, Stan Weightman Jr. Customers can expect all the same classic gourmet chocolates Valerie Confections has come to be known for, as well as Gordon’s pies, cakes and petit fours available for preorder and pick up. In the new year, the Valley space will also roll out coffee service with beans sourced from Sir Owlverick’s, a third-generation Asian-owned coffee roaster.

With so much extra square footage, the brand will also soon begin hosting private events, with ticketed public classes also a possibility in the near future. In the past, Valerie Confections has intermittently hosted jam-making and other cooking classes.
